Description
Have you ever tried homemade hummus? Hummus is a popular Middle Eastern dip or spread made from mashed chickpeas. It is a good source of plant-based protein, fiber, and healthy fats. Try out our recipe and never go back to store bought one.
Ingredients
  • 1 can chickpeas
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • Salt
  • 2 tbsp aquafaba (or water)
  • Paprika
  • Fresh parsley (chopped)
Instructions

    In a food processor combine the tahini and lemon juice first.

    Scrape the sides and add the olive oil, minced garlic, cumin, and salt.

    Drain and rinse the chickpeas.  Add them to the food processor. Process for around 1 minute, scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl and process again until smooth.

    If your humus is too thick slowly add the aquafaba/water until you get your desired consistency.

    Serve drizzled with olive oil, paprika, and chopped parsley .
